Welcome to America's Largest Home, Biltmore! To say that we are honored to partner with Biltmore to offer this workshop is an understatement. Biltmore Estate was built by George W. Vanderbilt in the 1890's and officially opened to his family and friends in the winter of 1895. We are excited to welcome you during the summer for our two day macro workshop. During our time together and included with the workshop, you will have two days with full access to explore the historic house and grounds.

We’ll explore mountain vistas with views well above the clouds while they're rolling over the peaks below. With several hundred miles of pristine mountain streams in the area, we’ll take advantage of the frequent, low lying fog and venture deep into the holler’s (southernism for deep valleys) to photograph not only the cascading streams, but also the dense forest floors and rushing waterfalls, all surrounded by autumn's beauty. Join us, as we arrive with a blank palette and leave with many beautiful works of art.

Beautiful and historic, Magnolia Plantation has seen the ups and downs of American History on her property. From the Revolutionary War and the Civil War to present day, this is history preserved at its finest. Established in 1676 by the Drayton family as a rice plantation, it was opened to visitors in 1870. History lives on in Magnolia with the Drayton's maintaining original ownership of the property for over 300 years. Magnolia Plantation was the place azaleas were first intrdouced in America.

Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee: April 12 - 15, 2020
We’ll take advantage of the famous “smoke” rolling over the peaks and filling the valleys, every morning. As many of you may know, the Smokies are saturated with streams, forest floors, and rushing waterfalls. Speaking of waterfalls, the national park is home to over 730 miles of mountain streams, which also host carpets of wildflowers and blooming Dogwoods, just waiting to be photographed. Also, not to be missed on our adventure are the locals including bear, elk and white tailed deer.

Island Astro | Charleston, South Carolina: April 19 - 21, 2020
Imagine witnessing some of the darkest atmosphere you've ever laid eyes on. The midnight boat ride to the island on our first night, blanketed with every star in the sky, will just be the beginning of our adventure. Our destination? The Boneyard Beach! For our second excursion, we'll spend the early am hours on the dark, east end of Folly Island taking advantage of its beautiful subject matter while capturing the Milky Way over the ebb and flow of the Atlantic.
