Join the Photography Workshop Company on an all-inclusive photography adventure through the rolling fields and storybook towns of southern France. During this eight-day workshop, we’ll wander through lavender fields at dawn, visit bustling markets, and photograph the wild white horses of the Camargue—all while slowing down to experience what makes Provence so extraordinary.

ACTIVITY MODERATE

Most locations on this itinerary are easy to access, though some walking through markets, cobblestone streets, and lavender fields is required. No strenuous hiking is involved, but comfortable shoes are recommended for uneven village paths.

TERRAINLAVENDER FIELDS – VILLAGES – COASTAL MARSHES

From the iconic lavender rows of Sénanque Abbey to ochre cliffs, salt marshes, and vibrant market squares, Provence offers a diverse range of scenes to explore and photograph. We’ll also have exclusive sessions with the wild white horses of the Camargue.

GROUP SIZE10 GUESTS

We believe group size is important for the ability to provide as much one-on-one instruction in the field as necessary. Due to the help from locals on this trip, our group size will be six guests per instructor.

Amazing. Fabulous. The best experience I could have ever hoped for. Tiffany and Keith are incredible teachers and two of the best hands-on instructors ever! Their skill in working with all different photographic levels was evident and their continual enthusiasm makes me want to go back for more, more, more.

Itinerary

All locations and times visited will be determined by the conditions given. All elements are watched closely for the best photographic and learning experience.

Bonus Session

We've listened to our guests and have implemented something that has been hugely beneficial in our time together. Each workshop group will be invited to a live, recorded, online critique and post processing session, a short time after the workshop. This makes way for more shooting in the field and the option to learn from the comfort of your home and the ability to refer to the recorded session for future reference.

Day One
Once you arrive at Marseille Airport, our driver will meet you and transport you to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where Tiffany and Pamela will be waiting with a warm welcome. Our first evening together will include a relaxed overview of the workshop followed by time to settle into the elegant Grand Hotel Henri. Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy a gentle evening stroll and photography session in the historic heart of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with its canals, antiques, and softly lit streets. Dinner will be at a local French bistro, where we’ll begin to savor the flavors of Provence.

Day Two
We’ll rise early to photograph the first light at Sénanque Abbey, where rows of lavender glow beneath the morning sun. Afterward, we’ll explore the iconic hilltop village of Gordes, stopping for coffee and free time to wander its cobblestone lanes. Midday, we’ll take a short break before heading to the ochre cliffs of Roussillon for a golden-hour shoot, capturing the warm tones of this unique landscape. Our evening will be relaxed, with dinner in a nearby village and time to review the day’s images.

Day Three
Our final sunrise in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue will focus on lavender fields with sweeping views of the countryside. After breakfast, we’ll enjoy free time to browse the famous Sunday market and antique stalls. Following lunch at Café de France, we’ll transfer to Hotel Gounod in St. Rémy, arriving in time to explore its charming streets. As evening falls, we’ll enjoy the Bastille Day celebrations and fireworks—an unforgettable opportunity for night photography and cultural immersion.

Day Four
We’ll start our day early with a sunrise shoot around St. Rémy, capturing the soft morning light over the historic town and surrounding countryside. After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll explore the vibrant St. Rémy market, where stalls are filled with fresh produce, flowers, and local delicacies—perfect for both photography and sampling Provençal flavors. Midday, we’ll take a break before heading to Arles. Here, we’ll follow Van Gogh’s footsteps on the famous walking route, comparing his painted scenes with the views of today. Our evening will be relaxed, with dinner in Arles and time for night photography if conditions allow.

Day Five
Today we move from the charming streets of St. Rémy to the wild beauty of the Camargue. After a quick sunrise session, we’ll transfer to Aigues-Mortes, a medieval walled town surrounded by salt marshes. You’ll have time to settle into our boutique hotel before we meet for a late afternoon adventure. As golden hour approaches, we’ll head into the marshes for our first private photo session with the iconic white horses of the Camargue—an unforgettable experience. We’ll return to town for a casual evening, where you can enjoy a light dinner or aperitif on your own before resting for another exciting day ahead.

Day Six
This morning, we’ll rise early for a private sunrise session on the beach with the wild white horses of the Camargue, capturing them as they gallop through the shallow surf. After our session, we’ll return to Aigues-Mortes for a leisurely breakfast and some time to rest. Midday is free for exploring the medieval town, its charming shops, or simply relaxing at the hotel. In the late afternoon, we’ll head back out for another horse photography session, this time chasing the warm tones of sunset as they reflect over the marshes. The day concludes with a relaxed evening meal, allowing time to review and discuss the incredible images we’ve captured so far.

Day Seven
Our final full day begins with a sunrise shoot that blends the beauty of the Camargue’s horses with the soft colors of dawn. After breakfast, we’ll explore the salt marshes and look for flamingos and abstract compositions in the reflective waters. This is a slower day designed to give you creative freedom and time to soak in the region’s atmosphere. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer or simply wander the streets of Aigues-Mortes. We’ll close the day with a farewell dinner together, celebrating an unforgettable week of photography and connection.

Day Eight
We’ll say our goodbyes and depart Aigues-Mortes for Marseille Airport. Our private transfer will ensure you arrive on time for your flights, with hearts and memory cards full of Provence’s magic.
