Learn To Capture Water Movement Like A Pro!
Have you ever wondered how to create beautiful, soft moving water in your images? Here's your chance to learn! We feel strongly that learning to master water movement is a benchmark of the photographic journey. We've chosen these specific two days for the tide levels, allowing you many opportunities for capturing the ebb and flow of the Atlantic.

The Water Movement Masterclass, will be structured so you'll learn how to technically achieve the lines, movement and beauty of the water, along with learning to see the movement before it's captured. In addition, time will be spent learning how to process your images to enhance the movement that you are capturing in the field.

This Masterclass can benefit both beginners and seasoned photographers.

Our excursions are beneficial for both the beginner and seasoned photographer. All guests will experience one-on-one instruction, with the emphasis being on the indivdual's strengths and desires.

The locations we have scheduled will be within the ability of anyone who is in moderate shape. The Lowcountry is a very flat landscape which will require no strenuous hiking. There will be a couple of lengthy beach walks.
Beaches - Jetties - Piers

For this workshop, we will be surrounding ourselves with the Atlantic and coastal subject matter such as jetties, lighthouses, dunes, large piers and boneyard beaches. All water, all the time!
Group Size
12 People

We believe group size is important for the ability to provide as much one-on-one instruction in the field as necessary. Due to the knowledge of our home location, this group size will be six guests per instructor.

The locations, dates and times for this workshop are designated to gain the best possible photographic opportunities available. We will have many occasions and spend many hours to capture the beautiful ebb and flow of the Atlantic, and maybe even a little evening fountain shooting in downtown Charleston. If weather becomes an issue, we'll work around it and take advantage of the current elements provided. Regardless, we have a short time together and we're going to make sure every minute is packed with superior locations, photographic potential, and learning.

Bonus Session
Once everyone has returned home and returned to their routines, we'll schedule a live, online post processing session with the emphasis being on properly developing your photos. We'll discuss software options and learn which tools are beneficial when editing your new captures, all from the comfort of your home or office.
The session will be recorded and sent to all guests for future reference.

Day One
To get us started, we will gather at the hotel for a meet and greet, followed by dinner and our sunset location. Without needing to be rushed for light, we'll wait for sunset and take the time to discuss the technical aspects that will equip you for the workshop.

Day Two
Leaving early, we will arrive at the beach well before the moring light. You'll learn to look for compositions and identifying the necessary elements for capturing the strong lines within the water. After breakfast you'll have time during a short break to review and select images to share with the group during an afternoon image review. After the image review and critique, we will then head out for a sunset and blue hour session where we will continue to work on mastering water movement. Our evening session will specifically focus on creating and capturing strong compositions to highlight the lines we are photographing and putting into practice what we have learned during both the field sessions and image review.
