There are very few places in the world that will take your breath away like the Canadian Rockies. As the warm sun rises and kisses the face of the mountains, your pulse will quicken. The potential for great photographic opportunities are as vast as the mountain ranges which you'll capture.
The Banff and Jasper photographic workshop is one of Keith and Tiffany's favorite places in the world to guide guests. Tiffany grew up in Northern Alberta and was fortunate to have Banff and Jasper as her playground. Whether you join them in June for the abundant possibilities of wildlife, hearing the crashing of avalanches from the peaks, and the new life of spring, or explore throughout the gorgeous yellow of the larch trees in the fall, you'll walk away with a once in a lifetime experience.
Banff was first settled in the 1880's after the transcontinental railway was built through the Bow Valley and quickly became a favorite of travelers with it's majestic peaks and natural hot springs on the side of Sulphur Mountain. As unchanging as the landscape is the desire for fellow travelers to experience the magic and mystery awaiting you in the Canadian Rockies.

All locations and times visited will be determined by the conditions given. All elements are watched closely for the best photographic and learning experience. Please note that due to the timing of the June workshop, we are very close to the summer solstice. That being said, time for sleep during the night will be limited. We will be sure to take a few hours off each afternoon for optional recharging time, for both you and your batteries!
Sunrise will come very early and we'll be up and out the door to capture it. We'll photograph into the day and stop for lunch. Due to our start time in the morning, and being out so late at night, we'll have a short afternoon break to recharge. We'll join back up for sunset and the blue hour where we'll capture the nearby lakes and rivers along with their reflections.
It’s up early again for our sunrise session. After lunch we’ll head for a hike to photograph several waterfalls and the crystal blue glacial waters of the Canadian Rockies. After a short afternoon break, we'll grab dinner together and then we'll head back out for our sunset session where we'll watch the sun set and then photograph the blue hour.
Our beautiful sunrise location will leave you breathless. We’ll capture beautiful mountain lakes, waterfalls and canyons that will provide an unlimited amount of photographic opportunity. At the end of our day, we’ll make our way back down the Icefields Parkway, photographing while listening to the glaciers cracking, thousands of feet up!
Sleeping in is for the birds! At least that’s what we’re going to tell each other. With our last day of fun and adventure upon us we want to make sure we’re taking advantage of every single moment. We’ll capture another majestic sunrise and then head to lunch before saying our “see ya laters” and catching flights home.

It's day one and we can't wait to get started on our adventure with you! We’ll meet at the hotel as a group at noon and grab lunch together. Food is a great way to get to know each other! We’ll then head out into the wilderness where we’ll cover camera settings, composition and guidlines to photographing the mountains. This time in the field will be the foundation for the rest of our time together. By the end of this first afternoon session you’ll be fully knowledgeable of our “in field workflow”. We’ll head back into Banff for dinner togetehr before heading out for our sunset session where we’ll photograph the beautiful mountain reflections in the lakes. Our focus for day one is to make sure you're fully equipped for the entire week.
This day is all about critters! You’ll find this is Keith’s favorite day! We have a couple locations that are known for great wildlife including bear, elk, and mountain goats (just to name a few). We’ll start early at sunrise, and head out to start our exploration. It’s a fun filled day of exploring, adventure and close encounters! We'll have our cameras out of our packs, and ready for the days adventure, as we work our way towards Jasper.
Sunrise for day five usually requires some strong coffee, but the rewards that we reap from the sunrise will be well worth it. Today we’ll cover some of the most beautiful land you’ve ever encountered and we’ll stop along the way for some roadside shots. We'll grab some lunch, talk shop and head immediately out for shooting until the sun sets.
